At Vini Italiani we like the wines of Teo Costa and the winery seemed a natural choice when we were looking for our first 'own label' wines!
Teo Costa winery dates back to late 1800. The wines are exclusively produced by the vineyard that is cultivated directly by The Costas
Their phylosophy followed from the vineyard to the bottle, is simply summed up: the wine should be , firstly full of elegance and fruity.
The Company has a property of 50 hectares with around 230.000 vine for fruit.
Carefully selected and implanted , today the Crus , are spread in Roero and Langha.
The Favorita grape is little known outside of Piemonte but is pretty much the identical twin of Vermentino, the grape producing the light, fruity summer wines that often accompany holidaymakers home from Italy, especially those returning from a warm Sardinian escape.
Full of grapey fruit, redoloent of pears, the wine is medium bodied and on the medium side of dry, with a palate enlived by a small prickle of liveliness, a petillance, as the French would have it. Acidity is good and the wine is a perfect party wine, a fruity and light all-rounder.
